The Chicago Fire's media department on Tuesday tweeted photos of a Morton Salt plant wall that had collapsed, piling huge piles of salt onto cars from an Acura Dealership next door. First, a small group of theaters decided on Wednesday to pull their screenings of "The Interview" in the wake of hackers' threats on movie theaters that screened the film, which stars Seth Rogen and James Franco. Next Regal Cinemas, Cinemark, Cineplex and AMC Theatres pulled theirs. Then Sony Pictures Entertainment decided to pull all screenings of the movie on Dec. 25. Finally, federal authorities determined that hackers working on behalf of the North Korean government were behind the attack on Sony, according to reports. And, as always, people turned to Twitter.

Chicago marathon lottery: winners, losers

Runners will be notified Monday if they won the lottery for entry into the Chicago Marathon. More than 71,000 runners applied to run the Oct. 12 race, which is capped at 45,000 runners. Registration had long been first come, first serve until last year, when registration signup was shut down after runners overwhelmed the system. A lottery was implemented this year.
