UPDATE: The CTA has responded to #askventra. Here is their statement, via Tracy Swartz:
"...#askventra is just one of many ways that the CTA reached out to customers to answer questions about the new fare payment system. Though currently 9 out of 10 rides on CTA is currently taken with Ventra, we still get questions from some customers and are using every possible means to reach people and try to answer questions.
As you know, for more than an hour there was a lively #askventra discussion, during which CTA and its vendor, Cubic, responded to more than 100 tweets to clear up confusion and provide direction on topics ranging from how to correctly tap a card on the reader to understanding how to manage an account or transition to the new system. We knew many Twitter followers would have fun with the introduction of a hashtag and lots of folks did—so we also played along and had a bit of fun, too. Of course, a majority of our responses were focused on providing helpful information to customers who needed it, since that was our intent."
